Making The Pointe Ballet Academy offers training for students from
pre-primary through pre-professional levels. The curriculum emphasizes classical
ballet technique based upon the infusion of Russian tradition of training.
Character dance classes are an integral part of the training program. Students
are also exposed to other forms of dance, including modern dance, jazz dance,
tap dance and ethnic dances to enrich and enhance their dance experience.
Classes are taught by experienced professional instructors.
Ballet classes are conducted with piano accompaniment. Students enrolled in the
school receive both a mid-year and year-end evaluation from their primary
instructors, assessing the progress of their study and assisting them in setting
priorities and goals for the coming year.

of this classical art form. No previous experience is required.
BEGINNING BALLET LEVEL
The beginning ballet level offers classes for children ages
5-7. The syllabus introduces students to the basic shapes, positions and
postures of classical ballet. The motor skills become more defined and refined
as children are challenged to mold their bodies to these very specific
positions. Musicality and dynamics of movement are stressed as the students gain
more control of their bodies.
As students stretch and strengthen their muscles, their bodies get
stronger, their minds absorb information about all of their encounter on these
adventures.
Elements of geometry, anatomy, and linguistics are introduced as are the customs
and musical rhythms of different cultures
PRE-PROFESSIONAL LEVEL
Students
will be considered for acceptance into the Pre-Professional level based upon
their hard work, determination and discipline. They must also have the technical
ability and physical strength required for the more advanced work in this level.
Progression
into the Pre-Professional level is based upon the student's mastery of the
vocabulary and the physical understanding required in the syllabus of his/her
current level. Since students progress at different rates this may be a two or
three year process.
Pre-Professional level students are required to attend all scheduled classes for
their level. Ballet technique, pointe, variations and partnering comprise.
