Willie B. Anderson
Founder/Artistic Director

Willie Bernard Anderson began his dance training in Atlanta , Georgia , he started in modern dance at DM Therrell High School, under the direction of Ms. Muriel Odom. Upon graduation, in 1992,  he received a scholarship to Ballethnic Academy of Dance, directed by Mr. Waverly Lucas and Nena Gilreath- Lucas Co- founders of Ballethnic Dance Company, where he continued his training in ballet, modern, ethnic and jazz. Mr. Anderson later joined Ballethnic Dance Company, and was promoted to principal dancer in 1995.

In 1997, he joined the San Jose Cleveland Ballet and moved with the company when it became Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley, dancing numerous roles as principal and corps. His roles with the company include Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and performances in Donald McKayle's Rainbow 'Round My Shoulders, Roland Petit's Carmen, and Dennis Nahat's Blue Suede Shoes.

Mr. Anderson has performed as a guest with Compaignie Ebene in Paris and Capital City Ballet in Atlanta.

Willie has taught at Ballethnic Academy of Dance, the School of Cleveland San Jose Ballet,  Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre, and Alvin Ailey satellite outreach program,( AileyCamp in Kansas City, Kansas and Berkeley, CA.) and at varies schools in the bay area.

 
 

 

 

 

Ineke Anderson

Associate Artistic Director

 

 

Ineke Anderson received her ballet training at the School of the Dance Theatre of Harlem under a full merit scholarship studying with such ballet legends as Istvan Rabovsky and Evi Lynn as well as Iris Cloud, Nancy Schaffenburg, Roseanne Elmer, Walter Raines, Mark Schneider, Mette Spaniardi, and Celia Marino.

  She danced professionally for ten years with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Cleveland San Jose Ballet, Ballethnic Dance Company, and Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre where she also served as Ballet Mistress and Rehearsal Director.

   After retiring from the stage, she taught at the Cleveland San Jose Ballet School, the School of Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley, and various Bay Area studios.

   Students of Mrs. Anderson have gone on to attend major ballet schools including American Ballet Theatre summer program and join major ballet companies including Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley.

   Mrs. Anderson is also the owner and director of Mindful Movement - A Pilates Co-operative.
