The Gordon Whitfield Scholarship is a program design especially for the young males in today’s society. Its base comes from The Danseur Development Project, created
by Waverly T. Lucas the co-founder of Ballethnic Dance Company in
Atlanta
,
GA.
The program mentors young males by providing intensive, athletic training utilizing professional dance technique to enhance life skills such as accountability, responsibility, discipline and team work. A
year commitment is require for all accepted into
this program. Once accepted into the program, Work/Study students are assigned a work schedule in various positions in the studio or on the cleaning staff in exchange for classes.
